This is a nice example of the capable Scorpion 8.1 Rib that has done some big trips in the last 10 years: round the UK, Fleetwood to Guernsey return, Scotland and Ireland. The trailer was bought 8 years ago and the Shearwater Cabin was fitted by the current owner as he wanted the boat for long range cruising. This is a really classic Traditional Mid Engined Tug style boat built in 1994 with a beautiful 1952 Gardner. The engine was rebuilt by Danny Williamson in 1995. The boatman's cabin adds to the classic feel of the boat and she has lots of internal space. There is a dinette which drops down to make up a double bed and the boatman's cabin drops down to sa mall double. This boat was built by Formosa but to the spec of a Kelly Peterson 46 with a Fin and Skeg. The paperwork is for a Formosa 44 but she is actually the same design layout and dimensions as the Peterson 46 though clearly not an original Kelly Peterson. This is a great example of the very popular but hard to come by, Cox 27 Family Fisher. The boat was re-fitted in 2011 and had a new 70hp Yanmar engine fitted in 1993. She is copper coated and is just about to go back into the water for the season. The Nimbus 3000 has a great reputation as a motor cruiser and is, as you would expect from Sweden, well built and very well designed and ideal for the Irish Sea! Like many Scandinavian designs, the use of space is excellent - the wheelhouse contains the galley and a good size seating/dining area.
